Light, Color & Composition

This class is an intensive, studio workshop. Fran will review the basics of solid design and composition, color, values, edges and paint application. Each day will begin with a demonstration and quick lecture followed by students painting the remainder of the day. It will emphasize designing and simplifying the composition. We will concentrate on shapes, values and edges: the principles necessary to quickly and accurately capture the light and color. Limited to 10 participants - $350.

Learn to simplify your process for fresh, impressionistic paintings.
Each day will begin with a short demonstration and quick lecture followed by students painting the remainder of the day. We will do studies/paintings outside and take we learn and bring that knowledge inside for studio paintings. The workshop is designed to encourage artists at all levels to attain greater mastery of their painting skills. Fran will review the basics of solid design and composition, color, values, edges and paint application.
This 3-day workshop will be held at my studio and is limited to 6 participants. The class will be kept small with ample time for individualized instruction at the easel.
The cost of the workshop is $275. You will need to register and pay a $75 deposit here to insure your spot in this immersive, hands-on workshop. The remaining will be paid on the morning the workshop begins. You will receive a supply list and other information after you register.
